Erika Náray and special guest: Ernő Fekete

A grumpy guy. Sometimes this is how he sees himself. Yet the audience took Ernő Fekete to their hearts, and he has been a leading artist of the Katona József Theatre Company for more than 25 years. Many Hungarians do not know that it is thanks to him that they can understand the words of Robert Downey Jr, Christian Bale and Joaquin Phoenix. A brooding, analytical type who tends to be introverted in many situations. That's why it is a great pleasure to have him as a guest of the Crazy About Jazz event with Erika Náray.

From his childhood, it was clear to Fekete that he wanted to be an actor. In 1988, he won a "Ki mit tud" talent contest with the recital of a poem, and he was accepted to the Academy of Performing Arts on his second attempt. He graduated in 1995, and, although he was invited to several companies, he signed up for Katona - in no small part due to the influence of Tamás Ascher. The stage is his natural element, but he also does a lot of dubbing and has appeared in several films. Most recently, he starred in the feature film "Így vagy tökéletes" (That's what makes you perfect) by Péter Varsics, which was shot just before the pandemic. What he missed most during the lockdown were the rehearsals. "I really like rehearsal. You don't know anything yet, and suddenly out of this nothingness, out of this fog, there comes an idea. You start from there and something good comes out of it. Then you have to reproduce that as best as you can in the performance, night after night." Before the enforced break, he rehearsed 'Isten, haza, család' (God, Home, Family), directed by Jakab Tarnóczi. Improvisation also played an important role in this play. It's no wonder Ernő Fekete likes jazz, is it?

Audience members, who will be able to take their seats at the Bohemian Event Venue on a first-come, first-served basis from 6 pm, receive a welcome drink and can enjoy dinner before or after the concert.
