On the second day of Budapest Ritmo, the first performer of the evening will be Besh o droM, one of the most successful bands in Hungarian world music, followed by world stars such as the giants of Malian music, Amadou & Mariam, and Damir Imamović, the greatest living master of the painfully beautiful Balkan sevdah, winner of Songlines’ award for Best European Record in 2021. Kalàscima, from South Italy, will also play music for the soul-cleansing, exorcising trans-dance of pizzica at their concert, while Sutari, an a cappella trio, will perform enchanting modernised Polish folk songs. Ayom’s ocean-scented, life-affirming songs will grace the day.

Budapest Ritmo is also an opportunity for networking and sharing ideas: this year, it will again host a music industry conference for Hungarian and international professionals. From the music strategy of the European Capitals of Culture to the intersection of music and film, we will explore a range of topics that go beyond traditional music industry issues.
